Our Marae
Marae are central places of connection for Muaūpoko whānau, providing spaces where whakapapa, tikanga, kōrero and relationships are maintained and strengthened. They are places where whānau come together for hui, tangihanga, wānanga, celebrations and other important kaupapa.
Kohuturoa Marae
Kohuturoa Marae is an important place of connection for Muaūpoko whānau. It provides a place for hui, whānau gatherings and cultural activities, helping support the transmission of mātauranga and whakapapa between generations.

Kawiu Marae
Kawiu Marae is one of the principal marae associated with Muaūpoko and remains an important place of identity, connection and gathering for whānau. The marae supports the continuation of tikanga and provides a place where uri can maintain strong links with their whakapapa and whenua.
