Waitangi Day
Waitangi Day is an important occasion for Muaūpoko – a time to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi, reflect on our shared history, and celebrate our identity as tangata whenua of the Horowhenua. Each year, Muaūpoko hosts a whānau‑friendly community celebration that brings together iwi, hapori, schools, and manuhiri for a day of connection, learning, and pride.
Our annual event features cultural performances, community stalls, kai, and activities for all ages. Everyone is welcome to join us as we commemorate this significant day in our national story.
Annual Waitangi Day Celebrations
A full programme for this year’s event is available in the annual pānui – see Facebook for latest details.
