Muaūpoko Hapu
Muaūpoko is made up of seven recognised hapū, each represented within our iwi structure.
The Role of Our Hapu
Our hapū are an essential part of Muaūpoko life. They provide leadership, preserve our tikanga and whakapapa, support our marae, and represent the voices of whānau within the wider iwi. Working together, our hapū help ensure the aspirations of Muaūpoko continue to be reflected in the decisions we make today and for future generations.
Hapu Representation
Each hapū appoints representatives who contribute to the governance and strategic direction of Muaūpoko Tribal Authority. Through this representation, the perspectives of whānau and hapū help guide decisions that support the wellbeing and future of our iwi.
