Matariki
Matariki is a special time for Muaūpoko – a moment to pause, reflect, celebrate, and look ahead. As the rising of the Matariki star cluster marks the Māori New Year, we gather with our Horowhenua community to honour those who have passed, celebrate the present, and set intentions for the year to come.
Each year, Muaūpoko hosts a community‑focused Matariki celebration that brings together whānau, schools, ECEs, and local organisations for a day of learning, storytelling, kai, and cultural connection. Everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate this important kaupapa.
